alternative forms of transport for commuters
As more residents' parking schemes are brought in, commuters will need to find alternative ways of getting to their work places. They should be helped to do this by being given full information about the alfternatives: ie walking, cycling, buses, trains and ferries.
This could be done by creating a dedicated website, and possibly a suitable app. Commuters coud log in, put in their home and work postcodes, and the site could show them all the possible alternatives.
The site could be jointly funded by the bus, train and, (possibly), the ferry companies.
Similar schemes have been running in various areas of our towns and cities and work well.
Why the contribution is important
My idea is important because it should help to reduce commuter parking and help commuters to realsie that there are alternatives to the car.
