Ban Taxis from Bus Lanes
I see absolutely no reason why taxis should be allowed in bus lanes. Think about it and try to give me one reason.
Why the contribution is important
I'm a big believer that to effect a change in behaviour, you need to reward the behaviour you want to see, not punish the behaviour you don't. Yes. Fixing Bristol's traffic problems is like training a labrador. Therefore we need to reward bus users and cyclists.
Reasons why this is an awesome idea:
- We should make buses a more attractive option (this will make buses slightly faster, and taxis considerably slower.
- Taxis are worse for congestion than cars since they often carry only the driver.
- Bus lanes would become slightly safer for cyclists too. Another behaviour we want to reward.
The more people we can get on buses the better for everyone. It would mean fewer cars, more buses, and in turn, more frequent buses and cheaper fares. A Better, Cleaner, Happier Bristol for everyone.
(except taxi drivers).

A taxi destroyed my car because it decided to use the bus lane and undertake me on hotwrlls road when I was already doing 30!
Taxi's only use bus lanes to undertake.
Ban them and enforce the solid white line!
