Cash in on good ideas
Dear George,
Instead of choosing one idea I suggest that you combine many of the brilliant ideas posted. Many of them can simply be sorted out by local people getting the right approval from yourself (I imagine) to get cracking on and a way/manner for people to network/share their idea with others. Include a way for investors to put their pennies where they like and things will start to happen with little stress from you and with some minimal guidance from relevant departments.
Therefor I suggest for you to choose a venue where everybody (people who've posted here for example) can show case their idea in person and for investors, local business people and council decision makers can all mingle, discuss ideas in more detail and get the various balls rolling.
This way you can group the various ideas together in different sections. For example there where lots of ideas regarding lighting, transport, gardening and green spaces and use of schools and public spaces. If you were to group those people together you are likely to get some amazing results which would both combine local ideas, investors and business and the council. I really think that this is the only way to make Bristol amazing, a combined effort.
Thanks and good luck!
Why the contribution is important
Only with the combined effort of all of us can we make a real difference. Just one idea isn't going to solve all of Bristols (local peoples) issues. And it is a terrible shame to lose all the other suggestions.

It's highly likely we will implement more than one idea. George and the Assistant Mayors will be watching the site to see the ones which are highly rated and most discussed. We are in the initial phase of idea collection. We do urge people to use the search to see if their idea has been suggested before.
One thing many idea generators are not really considering is the cost and who would pay for the impleentation of their idea. George is looking for original and achievable ideas. We'd ask contributors to consider the tough financial conditions facing the country and the fact the council must save a further £90 million from its budget.
