Clifton to City Centre tourist trail

My idea is to refurbish and reopen the Clifton Rocks Railway so that visitors could explore Clifton before descending in the railway to Hotwells where they would travel by boat to any one of a number of attractions on Harbourside (and vice versa)

A bit of a pipe dream perhaps but I believe something like this would be immensely popular with tourists and locals alike.

Why the contribution is important

It would become a very important visitor attraction which would help our tourist industry in Clifton, Harbourside and the city centre.

The costs of refurbishing the Rocks Railway would be considerable but in the long term I believe it would be a great asset to Bristol.

A nice idea but don't forget we've trying to find savings of £90 million over the next 3 years due to reductions in central government funding and growing demand for our services.

Apart from the money you have the challenge of the terminus being on the Portway & the river opposite being tidal. Better to promote ZigZag steps.
