Local Digital Manufacturing Hubs
Create a network of community spaces with a variety of facilities for digital manufacturing including computer aided design, 3D Printing, digital fabric printing, laser cutting etc. These spaces could become the hub for local innovation and entrepreneurialism delivering jobs and economic growth through community design and creativity. Through these Local Digital Manufacturing Hubs communities should also have access to the more advanced facilities offered in locations such as the Engine Shed, Science Park and Universities.
Why the contribution is important
These Local Digital Manufacturing hubs will build on innovative ideas and creativity to develop small scale business opportunities throughout the City, developing skills and jobs across all communities and areas of Bristol. People with creative ideas for products would not face the initial barriers of investing heavily in equipment or machinery. These small, bespoke and niche businesses can grow sustainably
