Open up high rise rooftops to the public

There are quite a few tall buldings that have flat roofs in Bristol with amazing views of the city and sunsets. if these buldings where servayed and made secured to be opend up to the public. Each rooftop could have popup coffee shops, tea rooms on them to help fund the safty and public liability. They even could be turnd into gardens or city beaches.

If the buldings of a city added to the views instead of taking it away by making the rooftops public, this would promote groth, increase moral, give extra green space and importantly be amazing.

This even could be a bulding legistration for future buldings making Bristol set a standerd of happy, heathy city living.

Why the contribution is important

See above. I would love to write more but im a poor artist and i need to get back to making work.

I have often thought this and when the bristol and west building was regenerated I thought that the resturant would have been on the top floor allowing public to see the beautiful views of bristol. I think this is something that should be worked on and changed so that more and more people come to bristol and experience the beauty of it.

The top floor of Trenchard car park is a prime example, and is already equipped with lifts and is safe for the public. Extremely ugly building, unless you are standing on the top of it :)

Sadly, I imagine £10 per parking space per day is a bit too lucrative for the council to want to open it up to popup cafes etc.

Fab idea! More outdoor spaces (especially quirky ones!) to spend time in can only enhance the experience of living in such a beautiful city.

Brilliant! This would also help to turn Bristol into a garden city which means we might also win The Lord wolfson price which we can then invest in some of the other projects floated here. I just love this and might even encourage people to develop living roofs on their own house. All this extra green would go a long way to increase bio diversity and improve the look and feel of our city.
