Tackle social inequality

In brief we have many individuals in Bristol that are homeless, unskilled and unemployed. To take this I suggest we utlise empty housing and empty retail units and unemployement by producing a training environment for these individuals to get get their lives back and have a home.

How, well most empty properties are this way due to the disrepair they are in, well lets train people to refurbish these home with the option to live in the property at the end of their training and completion of the work, thereby giving them training to also find employment with.

Homelessness in Bristol utlise retail outlets which have the possiblity of provding housing. The retail unit is open as a shop, sale goods as a charity or produce fruit veg, those that work in the shop gain a roof over their heads, a place to stay, work and gain new skills, a self funding option.

Ultise waste ground for growing crops to sell in the above shops, these individuals work the land and gain further skills, food on table and produce to sell.

Why the contribution is important

Although a simple idea I feel that this would help those that need it. It will up skill Bristols work force, provide homes and a place to stay for those in greater need. Reduce waiting list for social housing. Provide opportunities to those less well off to become a more involved part of the community of Bristol. It prevents high street looking like ghost towns and can prevent the devaluing of property within certain areas due to empty houses.

I believe my idea is self sustaining and therefore with the councils contribution of space, property which sits unused, and course within colleges already set up for such training, would reduevinate Bristols communities.
